Field Application Engineer - Connectors Industry

Position Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and highly technical Field Application Engineer (FAE) to be based in KL or Penang. The successful candidate will be the primary technical bridge between our engineering teams and our customers, while concurrently identifying, developing, and closing new business opportunities across Malaysia and Indonesia.

Key Responsibilities

• Field Application Engineering (Technical Support & Design-In)

• Serve as the primary technical expert for company products across the assigned territory.

• Drive "design-in" and "design-win" activities by working closely with customers' R&D and engineering teams from the early concept phase through to mass production.

• Conduct technical product presentations, architecture reviews, and training sessions for customers and distribution partners.

• Troubleshoot technical issues, coordinate with global product managers and engineering teams to resolve customer challenges and provide feedback for future product roadmaps.

• Develop system-level interconnect proposals tailored to specific applications, such as battery management systems, vehicle controllers, and high-speed I/O interfaces.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.

• Experience: Minimum of 7 - 10 years of experience in a Field Application Engineering, Technical Sales within the electronic components, interconnect, or semiconductor industry.

• Market Knowledge: Demonstrated understanding of the electronics manufacturing ecosystem in Malaysia and the automotive/E-Mobility supply chains in Indonesia.

• Technical Acumen: Ability to read technical drawings and discuss mechanical and thermal performance with mechanical and electronics engineers.

• Communication: Must be fluent in English, Mandarin and Bahasa Malaysia to communicate with customers.

• Mobility: Willingness to travel extensively (up to 50%) across Malaysia and Indonesia to meet with customers, partners, and internal stakeholders.
